Thinning scissors, with their double-sided serrated blades, are ideal tools for thinning out a dog’s coat rather than cutting it off completely, creating smooth transitions. This allows you to remove part of the coat and provide relief for your dog. At the same time, you avoid harsh edges and achieve a very natural look.
Modelling scissors are similar to thinning scissors, but only have serrations on one side. The other blade is sharp, which removes around 50 per cent of the hair, whereas thinning scissors only remove around 30 per cent. Modelling scissors are easier to manoeuvre and offer slightly greater precision.
Curved scissors are particularly suitable for cutting curves and contours. They offer optimum control when cutting in hard-to-reach areas, such as around the paws, ears or head. Thanks to their curvature, curved dog scissors ensure safety and allow you to easily follow the dog’s natural curves.
Straight scissors are the all-rounders among dog scissors. They are used for a wide variety of cuts on different coat types and body parts. With these scissors, you can make straight cuts along the body and achieve a well-groomed look. They are particularly practical for working on larger areas.
Claw and paw care is just as important as coat care. With a claw clipper, you can safely trim claws to prevent injury or pain when walking. Paw clippers are delicate and have rounded tips, allowing you to safely and accurately trim the hair between the paw pads.
These tools are particularly useful for grooming ears and sensitive areas. With hair removal tweezers, excess hair can be removed from the ear canals to prevent inflammation. Tweezers are also used in hard-to-reach areas and offer additional precision.
Trimming tools are used to care for coarse or wiry coats. They help to gently remove dead hairs and keep the coat in shape. Trimming knives and trimming stones are used for this purpose.
