Environment and disposal
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)
The Wagner eCommerce Group GmbH product range also includes electrical appliances (e.g. kitchen appliances) that fall under the ElektroG.
The aim of the Waste Framework Directive is to increase the promotion of the circular economy by preventing waste and, above all, by increasing the recycling of waste. Further information can be found at Circular economy | BMUV. There you will also find statistics based on the existing reporting obligations from the WEEE Directive (Electrical and electronic equipment | BMUV) as well as further information on the collection rates of waste batteries at Altbatterien | BMUV.
The symbol for the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment is a crossed-out wheeled bin.
As the owner of old appliances, you are obliged under the ElektroG to dispose of the old appliances separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of their service life. Disposal in normal household waste, for example, is therefore prohibited. Before separate disposal, you must:
- Disconnect used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed in the old appliance from the old appliance in a non-destructive manner
- Disconnect lamps that can be removed from the old appliance in a non-destructive manner.
- As the end user, you are responsible for deleting personal data on the old appliance to be disposed of - please delete all data on it!
We are obliged to collect your old electrical appliance free of charge in accordance with Section 17 (1) and (2) ElektroG if it is a heat exchanger, monitor or large appliance within the meaning of the ElektroG. Further information on this can be found at Information on the collection of old appliances
You can also hand in your old electrical appliance yourself free of charge at the following collection points: www.interseroh.de/weee-annahmestellen. There you can search for the nearest take-back centre.
Please note the following: Small appliances (= no external appliance dimensions larger than 25 cm) may be handed in to the collection centres in normal household quantities. Large appliances (= at least one external appliance dimension larger than 25 cm) may be returned to the take-back centres in exchange, "old for new" - this means: If you buy a new appliance from the Wagner eCommerce Group GmbH, you may return an old appliance that essentially fulfils the same functions as the new appliance to one of the take-back centres, provided you can provide the take-back centre with appropriate proof of purchase of the new appliance. To provide this proof, please proceed as follows: Please send your return request, stating the type of appliance for the old appliance to be returned (refrigerator, washing machine, electric cooker, television, etc.), together with a copy of the invoice for the new appliance purchased, by e-mail to Interseroh at weeeannahmestellen@interseroh.com or use the form at www.interseroh.de/weee-annahmestellen. Interseroh will use the data you provide to check whether you are authorised to hand in an old appliance at one of the Interseroh take-back points. If this is the case, Interseroh will also provide you with a receipt by e-mail containing at least the following information:
- Date of purchase + device type of the new device
- Interseroh contract number of the customer
- Interseroh logo
- Possible return period
With the issued receipt, you can now return your old device to one of the Interseroh take-back centres in your area free of charge. Please note: If you do not have a receipt, the collection centre is not obliged to accept the old appliance! The collection centre can also refuse to accept old appliances that pose a risk to the health and safety of people due to contamination (see Section 17 (4) in conjunction with Section 13 (5) ElektroG).
Batterierecht-Durchführungsgesetz (BattDG)
Many devices are supplied with batteries or rechargeable batteries that are necessary for operation. In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices that contain batteries, we as a retailer are obliged to inform our end customers of the following:
You are legally obliged to return used batteries as the end user. Batteries can be returned to a municipal collection point or to any retail outlet where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold. You can also return used batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries free of charge to our dispatch warehouse (PetPoint Charly, Ludwigstr. 43, 63667 Nidda).
The symbol of the crossed-out wheelie bin on batteries and rechargeable batteries means that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
The improper disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries can have harmful effects on the environment and also on human health due to the substances they contain. The separate collection and recycling of used batteries is therefore of particular importance. In this way, the valuable raw materials contained in the batteries can be recycled. Please follow the instructions above.
The symbols shown on the batteries (chemical symbol of the respective harmful substances they contain) have the following meaning:
Pb= Battery contains more than 0.004 per cent lead (Pb) by mass
Cd= Battery contains more than 0.002 per cent cadmium (Cd) by mass
Hg= Battery contains more than 0.0005 per cent mercury (Hg) by mass
